A First Holy Communion Cake

I made this cake for the daughter of a friend of a friend for her First Holy Communion last Saturday.  You can read more about it on my other blog, Pretty Pink Confections.

God Really IS Everywhere

Last night after we finished praying, C was explaining to me that God is in all places.

"He is even in your hair," she told me.

I laughed and said, "That's true, but what made you say 'hair' of all things?"

"Oh," she said, "because that is just an unusual place."

It certainly is.

Serious Computer Problems Here

I'll be gone for awhile until I get my computer situated.  Long, boring story of why it will take so long.   I know I have relatives waiting for Confirmation pictures, etc.  I'll post as soon as I can.  In the meantime, we are enjoying lots of beautiful springtime weather.  I hope you are enjoying the same!  See you soon, hopefully within two weeks. : )

this moment

{this moment}

. . . . . . . . . .
{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

Happy 15th Anniversary, Honey!!!

Dear Hon,

I remember so well you telling me this story.  You were standing in the sacristy, waiting with your groomsmen and the priests who were to concelebrate our Mass.  Fr. D.W., who is a canon lawyer and worked at the time on the Diocesan Tribunal, looked around at all of the priests, laughed, and said, "There's no way this marriage will EVER be annulled.  You both know EXACTLY what you are doing."

And it was so true.  Still is 15 years later.  We did know exactly what we were doing...God's will.  He intended for us to spend our lives together.

This life with you has been a dream come true for me in so many ways.   Since I was a little girl, all I wanted to be was a wife, stay-at-home mother of many, teacher, and baker (oh so close to starting my own business : ).  You have made all of my dreams come true.  And though this life can often be tough, demanding, and, at times, overwhelming, there is nowhere else I'd rather be.  And, it really goes without saying, no one else I'd rather be sharing it with.

I love you for reading my thoughts (and knowing just when I need a hug), I love you for making me laugh until I cannot breathe (remember the "No thanks...we're Catholic" comment?!  ; ), and I love you for being who you are; a wonderful husband, fabulous father, terrific man of God.

Thanks for making my life a dream come true.
Love,
Stephanie : )

I Spy

This morning when I remembered something else we were running out of, I went to add it to the grocery list.  Hmmmm....someone else also thought of something else we were running low on.  See if you can find which one of the following items was *not* added to the grocery list by me. : )

This Girl Is ALWAYS One Step Ahead of Me

C picked a chicken nugget up off of her plate and walked over to the baking sheet that held the remaining nuggets.  "This one looks a bit burnt," she said.  "I'm going to pick a different one."

"Those are the best ones!" I told her.  "That means they're nice and crunchy."

"Good," she responded immediately.  "I'll save it for you then."
